Your account and privacy
Password, location, notifications, and how to delete your account for good.
Signing in
Your email is your username — there is no separate one to remember. The same account works in the app and on this website.
I forgot my password
Tap "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in screen, or use this form. We email you a link that lets you pick a new one.
If it does not arrive: check the spam folder, and check you typed the address you actually signed up with. For safety, the answer is the same whether or not there is an account with that address — so an empty inbox does not confirm anything either way.
Signing out
Signing out deletes nothing from your phone. Your pets and their history are still there when you sign back in, on any plan.
Location
The app only ever asks for your location while you are using it, never in the background, and it is used for exactly one thing: deciding whether to tell you that a pet went missing near you. It is never shown to another user. Turning alerts off in Settings deletes the stored position from our servers. Details in lost pets and sightings.
Ads
The Free plan shows ads; Standard and Premium do not, and never will — that is half of what paying is for.
In Europe and the UK the app asks for your consent before requesting the first ad, and Settings has an entry to change your mind later. There are deliberately no ads on the lost-pet, report and sighting screens.
Support
Standard and Premium can write to us from Settings inside the app, and we answer to the email on your account.
Deleting your account
Settings → Delete account. It asks for your password: an unlocked phone with an open session should not be enough to wipe an account.
It erases your account, your pets, their medical records, your photos and your cloud backups. It is immediate and it cannot be undone.
Export a backup first if there is anything you want to keep — see backup. Deleting the account also deletes the phone's copy.
One thing survives on purpose: sightings you reported on other people's lost pets stay, without your name or your phone attached. A trail of sightings is what leads somebody to their dog, and removing it would punish the owner for a decision that was yours.

What data we keep
The full answer is in the privacy policy. The short one: your account, what you write about your pets, and — on Premium — the cloud copy of it. We do not sell any of it, and no user is ever shown another user's identity.
