Pets and their profile

Add a pet, its photo and its data, and what the pet limit of your plan actually means.

Adding a pet

Tap the + button on the pet list. The only required field is the name — everything else can wait, and you can edit any of it later.

What each field is for

  • Photo. Used on the profile, on the PDF you hand the vet, and on the alert if the pet ever goes missing. That last one is the reason to add a good, recent one.
  • Species and breed. The species changes the icon and the illustration used when there is no photo.
  • Date of birth. The app works out the age from it, so you never have to update a number.
  • Weight. Useful next to medicine doses, which are almost always per kilo.
  • Microchip. Worth filling in even though nothing in the app depends on it: if your pet is found by someone who takes it to a vet, that number is what identifies it, and it is much easier to read here than to remember.

Photos have a limit of 2 MB. If yours is bigger, the app shrinks it before saving — you don't have to do anything.

How many pets you can have

Free covers 2 pets and Standard 10; Premium has no limit. The limit counts pets, never records: on every plan a pet can have as many vaccines, medicines, illnesses, visits and appointments as you need.

If you hit the limit the app tells you when you try to add the next one. See plans.

Deleting a pet

From the pet's profile, in the ⋮ menu. Deleting a pet also deletes its medical records — that is why it lives behind a menu and asks for confirmation.

There is no undo. If what you want is to stop seeing a pet that died or that you gave away, but keep its history, do not delete it: the record is often the only thing left.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Everything you write is saved on the phone first, so the app is fully usable on a plane, in a basement or with no data left. What needs a connection is signing in, the lost-pet alerts and — on Premium — the cloud copy. See backup and sync.
